The parents feel the security levels need to be higher to avoid issues with the younger generation becoming possibly addicted to the gambling. The study showed online gambling has increased by over eighty percent due to the younger generation’s access to the sites.

The concern of many citizens regarding the online gambling restrictions raises the standards of the parent’s role in the lives of their children. Many feel the parents are the responsible parties for the actions of their children and their internet accessibilities to different sites. Parents want the online gambling sites to take the responsibility of the ages of their members while the sites want the parents to monitor their children. It becomes a vicious cycle that seems to be unsolvable yet with government stepping in to restrict the ages of the online sites, parents will not be responsible for the actions of their children on the internet.

The new restrictions will make parents and family groups happy yet what else will these groups require of other online businesses to control the access of websites to the younger generation? How is the new legislation going to possibly affect the standards of the operations of other companies due to parents not controlling the actions of their children? The fact the groups will force laws to control the online usages of children creates more opportunities for less parenting skills and more requirements of various businesses to parent the child in a residential household they have never met or will meet.

The online casinos do need to have an age guideline that is not the issue. The issue is parents need to monitor all the internet accesses their children have instead of demanding changes within the private business realm to replace their lack of parenting of their own children. To be realistic about the age restrictions, how are the online sites truly going to verify the ages of all their users even when the law takes effect? This poses another possible inconvenience for so many of age members as well as the businesses.
